July 27, 2010 RAIDER BREED WARS, The Quarter Mile Battle: UPDATES & registration form

Suzuki Raider Breed Wars: The Quarter Mile Battle

Suzuki Philippines, one of the leading motorcycle brands in the country, is bringing drag racing to a legal venue by staging the Suzuki Raider Breed Wars: The Quarter Mile Battle.

Aware of the dangers posed by illegal drag racing which is usually held in open roads at night, Suzuki organized the Raider Breed Wars to give drag race enthusiasts a legal and proper venue to showcase their skills.

The first leg kicked off last May 30, on the Old Airport Road Km 10, Sasa, Davao City,  and attracted a crowd of more than 5,000 riders, racers and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over Mindanao.

Team Suzuki’s Blockbuster Year-ender

The Hurrah at Lipa

Just when we thought the racing season was finally over, the Suzuki Racing Team, fresh from a spectacular showing at the 3rd IRGP, dominates the inaugural Inside Racing Cup Series at the Fiesta Speedway, Fiesta World Mall, Lipa City, Batangas last December 19, 2009.

Ivan Santiago burned the competition above his Skydrive 125 as he bested all others in the Automatic Open Category. Ivan vindicated his showing during the recently concluded IRGP 3 and established once more his technical riding supremacy. Santiago was more focused than ever to bring home top honors…dominating the category from start to finish.

Not to be undone was Suzuki’s John Lery Enriquez as he clinched back to back victories in the 115 Open and Underbone Open categories riding his spectacular Smash Revolution continuing his red-hot streak this 2009. It is now evident that Enriquez has established himself as one of the country’s premium circuit riders as he comes away victorious during this inaugural racing series. Enriquez’s partner in crime Paul Mark Doblada also finished in the top 3 spots of both categories with an assurance of climbing further to the top as the IR Cup Series progresses.

The first leg is over...Dominated by a team driven by one mission…A team sending out a message that there will be definitely more to come in 2010.

Ganbare Suzuki Racing Team!

SUZUKI RACING TEAM ARE NATIONAL CHAMPS!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!
Team Suzuki ends the Underbone King campaign!

It was euphoric…overwhelming…and in that moment you would be proud to be standing over the wet grounds of Clark Speedway…shouting “Go Team Suzuki!” As Queen’s immortal classic “We Are the Champions” played loudly in the paddock, everybody held hands and threw their fists up in the air in jubilation and with pride. Others just stared at the crowd in Blue, perhaps wishing that they had the same camaraderie, wishing that they too were like one big family, and wishing that they were part of Team Suzuki.

These emotions that were fueled by the passion and desire of the entire Racing Team were indeed infectious. All were smiling and laughing as Ivan Santiago made a gesture that he almost fell off from his Step 125, as he raced
in the 180 Automatic Open. All were in awe as Johnlery Enriquez and Paul Mark Doblada literally blew the competition away in the 150 open category. And all were cheering and screaming as both Enriquez and Doblada ran a thrilling race in the 115 sports production and 115 open categories.

Yes, we were triumphant in this campaign. But more than the triumph it was the atmosphere during the races that made this last Leg the most special of all. It brought out the best in the riders, it brought out the best in all of the employees present and it brought out the best in Suzuki!

We came, we saw and we conquered…winning 2nd overall in the 180 automatic open with Ivan Santiago and his gallant Step 125…winning 2nd overall in the 150 open with Johnlery Enriquez and his mighty Raider R 150 and winning 1st and 2nd overall with Enriquez and Doblada and their trusty Smash Revolution. On that day, the 18th of October at Clark Speedway, Team Suzuki cemented their place in Philippine Racing History as they became the National Champions in the 115 open and sports production category, giving birth to a powerhouse racing team that will fight in more battles and engage in more wars. And in their pursuit for greatness we the Suzuki family will be there all the way.

The Underbone King Series may have ended…but we’ve only just begun!

Ganbare Suzuki!

YET TO BE DETHRONED!

It was another stellar performance by the country’s premiere racing team last Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Carmona Racing Circuit during the 5th leg of the Magnolia Health Tea Underbone King Championships as Team Suzuki pounded on the competition in the 180cc Automatic and 150cc open categories.

True to its claim, Suzuki’s Powerfully Automatic scooter shined amidst the cloudy Cavite skies as Ivan Santiago blitzed past the green light and owned every inch, curve and stretch of the Carmona Race Track. The #18 Step 125 out-classed the competition as it held the lead for 12 laps and never skipped a beat giving Santiago the coveted checkered plum. Behind Santiago was Suzuki’s satellite rider Josh Reuben Tan who also gave the crowd a reason to cheer as he relentlessly battled to gain ground atop his #22 Step 125.

During this ecstatic period another two of Suzuki’s stalwarts were preparing inside the paddock area. Focused and motivated, Johnlery Enriquez and Paul Mark Doblada strapped on their racing suits, made final adjustments and took off to the track towards their positions on the starting grid. Both Raider R150’s were breathing power even at a still position, proving that the partnership between Suzuki & Yoshimura is indeed a formidable force.

As the green light flashed, Enriquez and his #21 Raider R150 captured the first turn giving Enriquez an early advantage on his approach towards the first stretch. From thereon he pushed steadily and never gave an inch, not even a window of opportunity for the trailing competition to make a move, gaining him the top honors in the 150cc open category.

After 5 legs, Team Suzuki’s Doblada still leads in the 115cc sports production and open categories making him favorite to snatch the title in this category when the Suzuki Racing Team races in the final leg of the UBK Championships this coming October 18 at the Clark Speedway, Clark, Pampanga.

Let us all rally behind the Suzuki Racing Team as they continue their bid for racing pride and glory!
